Obtaining a Library 

A person must live in Ohio and provide proof of address to obtain a Piqua Public Library Card. All patrons may have only one (1) Piqua Public Library Card (not including Teacher Card or Outreach Card). 

There is not an age requirement to obtain a Piqua Public Library Card, but minors under the age 18 must have the written consent of their parent or legal guardian to obtain a Piqua Public Library Card. 

 

 

Outreach Card

Patron must have a Piqua Public Library card account that is in good standing before opening an Outreach Card.   Good standing refers to an active card (not expired) that does not have any fines and/or overdue items. 

Patron must provide current State I.D. and proof of employment in a care facility.  Materials checked out on an Outreach Card must be used at a care facility. 

For those with an Outreach Card, material collections can be put together upon request. Collection requests must be submitted a minimum of one (1) week prior to the desired pick up date.  Requests for collections are to be submitted by emailing the circulation department at circulationdept@piqualibrary.org Paper requests are not available and will not be accepted.  Once the request is received by staff, a confirmation email will be sent.  Collections will be held no more than one (1) week past the scheduled pick up date before being re-shelved.  Collection requests are requests and are not guaranteed. 

 

Teacher Cards

Patron must have a Piqua Public Library card account that is in good standing before opening a Teacher Card.   Good standing refers to an active card (not expired) that does not have any fines and/or overdue items. 

Patron must provide a current State I.D. and a current Teaching I.D. or home-schooling documentation in order to apply for a Teacher Card. 

Materials checked out on a Teacher Card must be used for educational purposes.  Juvenile books on a Teacher Card will be checked out for six (6) weeks instead of the standard four (4) weeks 

For those with a Teacher Card, Classroom Collections can be put together upon request. Collection requests must be submitted a minimum of one (1) week prior to the desired pick up date.  Requests for collections are to be submitted online at piqualibrary.org.
