Johnston Farm: “Around the Farm” TV show VHS Videotape Collection

INTRODUCTION

The Johnston Farm: “Around the Farm” TV Show VHS Videotape Collection was accessioned into the Piqua Public Library Archives and Special Collections in July 2017 as a result of a donation from the Johnston Farm and Indian Agency. The collection consists of 136 VHS video tapes. One of the tapes is from 1995, three are from 1999 and the remainder are from 2000-2011. Five of the tapes contain raw unedited footage as they were originally shot, the remaining 131 tapes contain programs that were edited for broadcast on Access Piqua Television Association (APTA) cable channel 5. With the donation, the tapes have become the property of the Piqua Public Library and are available to our patrons and researchers and may be viewed in the Local History Department of the Library. There are no known restrictions on the use of these videotapes.

SCOPE AND CONTENT

The Johnston Farm: “Around the Farm” TV Show VHS Videotape Collection is divided into two series and is housed on the third floor of the Library.

SERIES I: Finished Tapes –tapes that appeared on the Access Piqua Television Association cable channel 5. This series consists of Tapes 001 – 131.

SERIES II: Tapes containing Raw Footage – not edited for broadcast. This series consists of Tapes 132 – 136.
