Community Poem: Library Love

Community Poem: Library Love

In February of 2020, the Piqua Public Library invited our patrons to write a community poem. Everyone who participated wrote, in six words or less, why they love the library. We turned their submissions into a community poem for Library Lovers Month.

Community Poem: Library Love

Walking into the library is like coming home.
The books and smiles are free,
And there are so many books! We love them all!
There’s so much to do,
Borrow books, listen to music and relax
Join a book club,
Find genealogy help from local history,
Make a new craft,
Or join the vegan potluck.
We have great staff, wonderful music and lots of community.
The stained-glass windows cast a soulful glow,
The piano plays a sweet tune,
We hope you’ll love the uniqueness of the library
It’s a quiet space with welcoming people.
Books are your passport to anywhere,
We hope to help you cultivate
A life-long love
So the Library may become your second
Home.❤️

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Community Poem!
