2022 Summer Children's Programs

Brukner Nature Center Wildlife Encounter

Monday, June 6th at 10:15 am in the Piqua Library Lobby

There are oceans of possibilities when you start discovering the extraordinary adaptations of our native Ohio wildlife! Participants will enjoy a close encounter with a midland painted turtle, tiger salamander, and big brown bat during this hands-on program! Did you know that the midland painted turtle got its name because the markings on its shell look as though it was hand-painted? Or that a salamander breathes through its moist skin?! Did you know that one bat can eat 1,000 insects each night - that would be like us eating 50 pizzas?! Children will be inspired as they discover more about these amazing creatures through live encounters, cool props, and hands-on educational fun!
